The Faverolles chickens get their name from a town in France. They were first brought to the United States at the beginning of the 1900s. There are several color varieties of this breed but the Salmon coloration is the most popular in the US.
Faverolles are known for their docile nature and adorable fluffy beards and muffs around the faces as well as feathered legs and outer toes. They lay a light cream colored egg. Fun fact: Faverolles have 5 toes which is one more than many breeds of chickens.
