Midnight
Midnight is a chick that was hatched on our farm from our chickens! She is the offspring of Kylo Hen and so you can see where she gets her gorgeous black feathers and looks. We can't wait to see what eggs she lays.

Smoke
Smoke is one of the chicks hatched on our farm. She is the off spring of our favorite rooster Kylo Hen and therefore has the gorgeous dark skin genes. We are anxiously awaiting what color eggs she will lay in the future!

Sprout
Sprout is our smallest hen right now. She is still growing but is a good bit smaller than normal marans chickens. She is a little on the shy side and likes to play hide and seek with her eggs. Who doesn't love an easter egg hunt for gorgeous dark brown eggs every day?

Godiva
Godiva has gorgeous black feathers with a green iridescent sheen. She is somewhat shy but not very flighty. She hasn't started laying yet but we hope to see some gorgeous dark chocolate colored eggs from her. Marans lay the darkest brown eggs of all breeds of chickens! Godiva's eggs are a medium brown and have dark brown speckles on them making them some of our favorite eggs that we collect.

Coco and Chanel
Coco and Chanel are two of the cutest little hens we have. They have adorable little bearded faces and feathered legs. They are very docile and friendly. They are almost identical so we can't tell them apart very well! They lay a light cream colored egg.

The Golden Girls
The Golden girls are actually 3 chickens that are nearly identical so we can't tell them apart! They are a hybrid breed that lays a large number of brown eggs. When you see eggs in the grocery store, they usually come from this breed of chicken. These girls are sweet and live a spoiled rotten life of free ranging on the pasture and sleeping under the trees.

Bluebell
Bluebell is our only white egg layer so every white egg you get comes from her. She is a curious, friendly chicken who loves treats. She has a small slender body and gorgeous shades of blue feathers.

Big Momma
Big Momma loves to go broody and try to hatch chicks of her own. We haven't let her hatch any eggs yet because we collect eggs every day but might give her a few fertile eggs to sit on in the future. Who doesn't love baby chicks? She is one of our largest chickens.

Lilly
Lilly gets her name because she is solid white like an easter lilly. She likes to run through the pasture like a velociraptor which is quite entertaining to watch!

Peep
Peep has a gorgeous pattern of brown feathering. She lays a large- extra large light green colored egg about 5 days a week. She is always inspecting the nest boxes after we collect eggs to make sure they are in proper order.

Dottie
Dottie is a gorgeous hen with fluffy feathers. Unfortunately her white feathers don't always stay pure white in color due to our Georgia Red Clay! She is a calm, friendly hen.

Birdie
Birdie is a sweet easter egger chicken. She has pretty white speckles on her breast. She is friendly to people and other chickens and loves treats.

Red
Red is one of the third adult hens that we acquired from a large chicken egg production farm. She is a sweet girl but wattles everywhere she goes. She funny deep voice when she clucks and sings her "egg song". The noises that hens make each day to signal they have laid their egg.

Yellow Bird
Yellowbird or "yella bird" as we call her sometimes is a sweet girl with the softest feathers, she doesn't mind being petted. She lays 4-5 eggs each week and does go broody sometimes.

Martini
Martini lays 5-6 olive colored eggs each week. They are large in size despite her being one of our smallest chickens. She is a quick runner and tends to keep her distance from people.

Oprah is a somewhat shy chicken. She is easy going and gets along well with the other girls. She has a cute fluffy black bear and muffs characteristic of easter egger chickens.

Bebe
Bebe is a chicken who came from a large egg laying operation with her two sisters Big Momma and Red. She lays 4-5 eggs a week and loves to go broody (tries to sit on her eggs to make them hatch).

Wynonna
Wynonna is our little piggy. She loves to eat and is the first in line for any treat. She is good at uncovering lids of treats or food that I forget to close and will be found family sitting in the bin, chowing down. She is a friendly girl to people but sometimes likes to hoard the nest boxes away from other hens.

Ashley
Ashley loves to free range. She is often out in the pasture off by herself exploring for new snacks she can find. She and her sister, Wynonna, try to assert their dominance on new younger hens in the flock.

Miranda
Miranda is our top layer. She lays an egg almost every day! She is also our most dominant hen filling the role of matriarch. She is very curious and friendly.

Liberachi
Liberachi is our sweet fluffy teddy bear! He is all feathers and is about half his size soaking wet. He is very friendly and is a total puppy dog. We love watching him out in the pasture strutting around.

Kylo Hen Hawk Slayer
Kylo Hen is our head rooster in the flock. He has a great personality, is not aggressive to people and treats his hens with lots of respect, finding little treats for them in the yard and calling them over to eat them. He is constantly scanning the skies looking out for aerial predators. We hope he will help protect the flock during times when hawks are prevalent. Hawks are our worst predator for free range hens! Kylo Hen is a rare chicken breed who has excess black pigmentation in his body. His skin, feathers, eyes, nails and even meat/ muscle is all black!
